The cervical vertebrae make up the neck of the vertebral column. They have been described as looking like "spaceships". They have a short transverse and spinous process. The vertebrae seen here looks like its spinous process is longer than other cervical vertebrae because it is the last of the cervical vertebrae (the seventh), so it is sitting right next to the long spinous process thoracic vertebrae
